The Wild Elephant Valley Orchid Garden officially opened to the public on February 5, 2019. Covering over 10 mu of land, it showcases more than 160 species of rare and exotic plants, with a special focus on tropical flora—particularly those from the Orchid family. Here, you’ll not only encounter rainforest wonders like epiphytic, saprophytic, and aerial-rooted plants but also immerse yourself in the orchid world’s breathtaking diversity and rich cultural heritage.

Detailed description

Carefully curated mini-landscapes within the garden have become popular spots for visitors, offering an expansive space that can comfortably accommodate up to 300 people at once. As you stroll through, orchids bloom in vibrant splendor, occasionally veiled by a delicate mist that enhances their ethereal beauty—creating a dreamlike atmosphere where flowers seem to compete in radiance amid the soft haze. At other moments, sunlight filters gently through, casting dappled patterns as the blossoms lazily unfurl, each petal brimming with playful charm and natural allure.

In Chinese culture, the orchid has long been regarded as the embodiment of elegance and purity. The orchid garden boasts a rich variety of orchid species, most of which are classified as national-level protected plants. Each variety possesses its own unique charm: some feature graceful, refined blossoms, while others exude regal splendor. Their leaves remain evergreen throughout the year, blending strength with softness—so even when not in bloom, they resemble living works of art, radiating an indomitable sense of artistic integrity and character.

Orchids are not only incredibly ornamental but also boast remarkable medicinal value. Among them, Dendrobium officinale—a plant often referred to as the "panda of the pharmaceutical world"—is hailed as the "life-saving elixir." Entirely usable in medicine, it acts as a natural "lubricant" for human organs, helping to boost immunity, enhance memory, nourish the stomach and generate saliva, as well as moisten yin and clear heat from the body.
